Submitting Art, Essays, Stories, and Poems

The following outlines the general rules we maintain for accepting submitted materials:

1. Nothing pornographic or erotic in nature will be accepted. This includes the following: writing focusing around graphic sex, art showing sex or sexual acts, etc. However, artistic nudity, coarse language, and brief mentions of sexuality are acceptable. If you have any question about whether your piece is acceptable, send it in. If it is not, you will be notified.

2. We have the right to refuse any piece that comes to us, for any reason. This does not mean we approve of heavy censorship, only that we want to maintain a respectable publication.

3. We also reserve the right to edit any piece to be grammatically correct and comprehensible, however the edited work will be returned back to you before publication for your approval.

4. PLEASE make sure the work you send in is your own, unless you have express, written permission from the owner, to whom you must give credit. We will ask to see this document.

Contests

Our general rules involving contests are as follows:

1. Criteria for a standard submission must be met, as specified above.

2. Any one person may not submit more than two entries into any given contest.

There are currently no contests running. Check back in the future.

Poll Questions

You can submit your idea for a poll at any time. Please try to make them relevant in some way to the topic of the newsletter.

Advertising

You can have your business or for-profit website advertised on our site or in our newsletter for a small fee: 5 US dollars for a banner 150x150 pixels or smaller. If you opt to have it on the site, it will be displayed on the front page, beneath the introduction, for one month. If you opt for the newsletter, it may be displayed on any page, and it will appear in one issue.

Not-for-profit websites can be displayed on our links page indefinitely for no fee. Sites that fall under this category are personal, writing, or art sites, as long as they relate to therianthropy.

If you have any questions about which category your site falls under (profit or not-for-profit), please ask.

Other

You can submit most anything you have to offer, including dates for howls/gatherings, personal ads, memorials, thank-you’s, ask-a-therian, artist/writer spotlights, etc.

Donate

Because we do not ask for money for a subscription, we buy our website host, paper, and ink out of pocket. To try to keep our newsletter fairly self-sufficient, we’d be grateful for any small amounts of money that you can donate.

Subscribe

A subscription to the newsletter is free, and, unless otherwise specified, will last one year; since we survive on donations, we cannot afford to send newsletters to someone who is no longer interested in receiving them. At the end of one year, you will be reminded to renew your subscription via email and a flyer accompanying your last newsletter.
